Young television producer, Michael Donovan, tries to abandon his womanizing ways when he meets and marries elementary school teacher Katherine. Among his endearments to her is filming himself in his studio, costumed as "The Sandman," sitting on a makeshift moon with a starry background, and telling stories to entertain Katherine's class. When Michael's struggles to resist the near-irresistible temptations on his job lead to Katherine catching him in the act on the set, they separate. After his wise, and composed older brother Tommy helps him see how empty womanizing really is, Michael puts "The Sandman" to work in a bid to win Katherine back.

I saw this film on the Retroplex movie channel a little over a month ago; I was curious to see what Kate Capshaw's movie debut before "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" was like I didn't see "A Little Sex" when it was in theaters in March Also, I had read various reviews about "A Little Sex" beforehand, which were mostly negative. And, I also remember the late Gene Siskel of the Chicago Tribune gave it only 2 stars, meaning barely tolerable.

That's not to say that the movie doesn't rant and rave about cheating on your spouse. It's just that its tantrums seem borrowed directly from the millimeter-deep emotions of TV sitcoms, where people fight because it's 12 minutes into the half hour, cry because it's 17 minutes into the half hour, and lovingly embrace each other because the half hour Is, at long last, finished with. Everything in this movie happens on cue. They make an attractive couple, and with other characters to play and other dialogue to read, they would be fun to watch.
